something to love

Everybody needs something to love. And chances are your tiny tot’s going to fall for a blanket or stuffy that’ll become their ‘lovey’ and accompany them everywhere for many a year. Since you’ll be seeing a lot of it, why not something that’s safe, appropriate and appealing to them that will also appease your aesthetic side? Noonoo’s comfort blankets are just the ticket.

Since safety’s top of every parent’s mind, we love that Noonoo’s comforters are made of felted lambswool from Merino sheep in Australia. Though not certified organic, Noonoo only uses wool from lambs that have not been dipped in pesticides or chemicals. And because they know that babies put everything into their mouths, all their products are put through testing by the Bureau Veritas. They’re transparent and big on ethical manufacturing too.

As for appropriate, their blankets are embroidered with images of children’s drawing such as bugs, slugs, sheep and houses. They’re also very interactive with asymmetrical edges and shapes, tabs, loops and nooks and crannies for little hands to explore as they lull themselves to sleep.

But the best thing is that Noonoo’s comforters appeal to us and our kids.  We like playing with them and discovering the hidden gems like the pocket on the slugbug-baby.  Our tot fell in love with hers immediately and totes it everywhere with her.

Their blankets come in three different sizes too. Take a mini comforter out and about or tuck it into your child’s pocket when they head off to school; a mid-size comforter is just big enough to either take to bed or take along on your travels; and the large comforters are a regular blanket size. They also make lovely toys. Next time we need a baby gift we’ll be snagging their next baby eye pod.

Though not the cheapest blankets around, we think it’s worth investing a little more for something that will be loved for a very, very long time.

Please note: The where to buy section on their site isn’t up to date but you can find Noonoo at Hip Baby and it’ll be hitting lots of other local stores soon too.
