looking back @ music
Amongst all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s also a time of appreciation and reflection. For us it’s been a big year as it was our first full year yoyomama-ing and we won the SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award for BC and Territories which has meant lots of growth and juggling. So who do we appreciate? You, our smart, funny, inquiring and inspiring readers. And what are we reflecting upon? Your favourite stories from the past year, so from now until the New Year we’ll be counting down your top five faves from 2008.
Just a few years ago few of us would have known we “needed” an iPod, yet now they’re a necessity for many. Which may explain why you were so interested when we wrote about the Canadian-made SweetPea 3 MP3 Player for kids last September. Although we suspect it may have more to do with the fact that the SweetPea 3 gives kids their own control over their musical choices, eliminating the need for you to press repeat over and over and over again when it comes to their favourite song.
Sure the SweetPea 3 comes pre-loaded with songs and stories, but we’d suggest you create your own playlists to make the most of this opportunity to expand your kids’ musical horizons.
We will keep our eyes open for other musical accoutrements for kids in 2009, but in the meantime, here are some some handy playlists we’d recommend. And be sure to tune in tomorrow for your favourite article of the year:
- Soundtracks
- Christmas Music
- Halloween Music
- New Music
- Kid-Friendly Adult Albums
- ’80s Music
- ’70s Music
- ’60s Music
- Sleepytime Tunes
yoyomama will be back in 2009 with your daily hits of helpful, hip info on gear, tips & tricks, events and more, ’til then we wish you safe and happy holidays.
