The holidays are fast approaching and we have some great gift ideas to share with you over the next few weeks. With the economy being what it is, we’re all about shopping mindfully this year, after all if you’re going to buy less why not buy smart, buy locally, and buy the best toys and gifts you can for your kids? We’re starting off our holiday shopping ideas with personalized pressies, as they need more lead time than your average gift. Look for stocking stuffers, toys, clothes and more in the next few weeks.

At Child’s Own Studio local mum Wendy Tsao turns your kids’ drawing of a person, place or thing into a lovely soft toy they’ll treasure. Check out her gallery to see how she turns something virtual into reality. Talk about taking one of a kind to a whole new level.

Simply Colors is a Kamloops-based company offering personalized clothes – everything from onesies to dresses – for kids from newborn to eight-years-old. You can choose something as simple as a hoodie emblazoned with your tot’s name or be a little more fanciful and have a tee printed with a classic catch phrase that is your child’s alone. And they’ve just added illustrations you can throw into the mix too.

Zoodyonyms customized name puzzles are some of the loveliest we’ve seen. We tried sticking within BC, but these were worth going all the way to Ontario for. These individually designed, animal-themed jigsaws are hand-cut from a single piece of wood and they work both as puzzles and décor. Each one is designed with the right animals and colours to highlight your child’s name.

Art Prints from Bealoo Kids in Kelowna aren’t created just for your child, but you can get some of their whimsical designs personalized including fairies, airplanes and cars.  Go with just their name, or “Princess Grace” or “Dominic’s Domain”.

    HI there,

thanks very much for featuring my company on your site! I just noticed that the link you have to my website goes to my old -now defunct- website – it should be going to http://www.childsown.com – Thanks again!

After reading this blog, we ordered 3 shirts from Simply Colours – wow! Not expensive, good quality, and super fast processing! I think we got the shirts 3 days after we created them! We will be returning again!
