Rain, rain, go away

Yeah, that’s not going to happen anytime soon. Fall is now firmly entrenched and it’s high time to make the switch from sunscreen to rain gear. While we’ve found some great coats for kids and mamas in our travels, hats are another matter. Hoods on coats not only leave little foreheads damp, but they don’t always stay on and they can also obscure peripheral vision and affect hearing. What to do, what to do?

It’s quite a literary weekend as well, and did you know that October 5th – 11th is Fire Prevention Week? You can check out Vancouver’s Fire & Rescue Services site for lots of info on preventing fires. And don’t forget about Music with Marnie’s ongoing concerts on Friday mornings at St. James Community Square.
