Does the increasing prevalence of allergies in our kids, the debate over organic versus non-organic, news about toxins and recalls and the buzz around living green get confusing sometimes?  Well, local mama Sydney Carlaw, creator of the informative site babypurity.com, is launching the first Baby Purity Mother’s Conference this October to help demystify these topics. Bringing together concerned mothers and responsible companies the conference will help educate, encourage and empower mothers to make safe, healthy choices.

A one-day event, the Baby Purity Mother’s Conference presents a range of experts from well-respected organizations. It’ll include Christopher Gavigan, CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World and author of Healthy Child Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home, Lisa Frack from the Environmental Working Group, Dr.Chantelle Mitchell from Healthy Routes Naturopathic Services and representatives from Playtex and Mattel. They’ll address a broad range of topics including organic food, family nutrition, product safety and green products like lotions, shampoos and cleaning products.

Carlaw is not afraid to take things to the next level either. She’s emailed and phoned local, provincial and federal politicians and invited them to attend. So far no one’s taken her up on her invites. Hmm…

The conference takes place on Saturday, October 25th from 9 am – 5 pm at the Sheraton Wall Centre. The cost is $38 and that include a yummy lunch and a green swag bag full of great giveaways. Tickets are selling fast so if you’re interested you’ll want to snag your spot soon by visiting: www.babypurity.com/conference.htm
