Can’t be beet
Filed Under Going Green, Stuff | August 8, 2008
We freely admit to our stationery fetish. There’s something about the texture of thick cardstock between our fingers and images that catch our fancy with the feelings they invoke. And besides there are few things better than receiving a lovely card in your mailbox. But we know that cards aren’t the most eco-friendly items, and with the advent of the ecard heck, you don’t even have to plan ahead to let someone know they are in your thoughts on special occasions.
But from now on when we do want to go that extra mile and let someone know we’re thinking of them in a tangible way, we’ll be turning to Sweetbeet’s eco-friendly cards. Letterpress printed in Canada using vegetable-based inks on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and packaged in biodegradable sleeves, Sweetbeets cards are both lovely and help assuage some of our green card-giving guilt.
Celebrating all sorts of child-friendly occasions you’ll find Sweetbeets cards to welcome new babes, celebrate the wonderful world of children’s play, make great birthday cards, and more. Plus they do a cute line of gift tags and their eyelet series meets a mama’s stationary needs as well.
Mama Lisa Zuraw was inspired to start Sweetbeets when she had her first child. Underwhelmed by baby announcements featuring pink and blue baby carriages, she decided to illustrate and create cards that sparked memories of the magic of childhood. You can find Sweetbeets cards in person at dandelion KIDS or online at their Etsy Shop.
And all of Sweetbeets cards are message-free inside. Which leaves more space for your own thoughtful musings…
