Can’t be beet

We freely admit to our stationary fetish. There’s something about the texture of thick cardstock between our fingers and images that catch our fancy with the feelings they invoke. And besides there are few things better than receiving a lovely card in your mailbox. It’s another busy weekend, and just in case you haven’t heard, there’s a nurse-in at H&M downtown at 12:30 pm today to protest a nursing mother being asked to breast feed in a changing room rather than in public. It may seem a little odd to be touting the benefits of merino wool clothing for babes mid-summer, but here’s why we love it any time of year: it’s silky soft against sensitive baby skin and helps regulate their body temperature, keeping them comfy year-round; it helps keep babies dry because drool (and other emissions) easily evaporate; it’s naturally anti-microbial which helps control odour; it provides natural UV protection of 40+; and from a safety point of view it’s flame-retardant and self-extinguishing. It sounds so fabulous that we’re hardly surprised that In Your Own Way has expanded their women’s line to include basics for babies as well.

Before Angelina left the hospital with twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, her legal team registered more than 50 domain names covering all variations of the newborns’ names and Jolie did the same in 2006, registering 24 domains when she gave birth to Shiloh Nouvel. This made us wonder how we could stake a claim on some internet real estate for our own (albeit far less famous) offspring. We turned to Julianne Horvat from Webnames.ca for ideas.
