Promises, promises…

In the very beginning we promised we’d keep you on top of upcoming registration dates for kids’ activities. Well, we haven’t quite kept our word, we’re blaming it on the fact that we don’t want to think about the fall quite yet as it seems summer just got here. But fall registration is well under way for some activities, and coming up soon for others, so here’s our list of fun activities for kids and when you can get your foot in the door:
Arts Umbrella

With multiple locations for this popular music class, registration began for the St. James location on the 21st of July, you can get in on their other community centre locations when they open up their fall registration: www.westsidemusictogether.ca

604.737.7693
Registration at this established facility with multiple locations has already begun, and some classes are already full (sorry!): www.phoenixgymnastics.com
Phew, at least we’re not quite so far behind the eight ball on these ones:
Vancouver Community Centres
Each community centre’s registration starts on different dates, and most of them don’t have that info easily accessible online. We can tell you that in general they seem to be starting fall registration in mid-August. Use this handy list to locate and call your local community centre for exact dates: vancouver.ca/parks/cc/
Skating Lessons
As with the community centres, each rink starts their registration on different days, but it’s also around mid-August. Here’s a list of rinks and contact info so you can check with your local venue: vancouver.ca/parks/rec/rinks/index.htm
Swimming Lessons
To make things a little more complicated, not only does each swimming pool have its own registration dates, but there are also different registration dates for weekday and weekend lessons. Swimming spot get snapped up fast, so definitely choose your pool and get organized in advance: vancouver.ca/parks/rec/pools/index.htm
We know that this is just a drop in the bucket, so what are you signing your kids up for this fall? And when? Use our handy comment functionality at the bottom of today’s article to share other ideas and locations, or post them in our Facebook Group.
