Po Po’s Ponchos

We’ve resisted Po Po’s Ponchos from local mum Karen Stark for awhile. Not because we don’t think they’re cute – they’re adorable – but because we aren’t fans of wearing ponchos ourselves. But during a recent moment of weakness we were seduced by a candy apple red poncho in particular and we caved. And boy, are we glad we did.

It turns out a poncho is a perfect spring layering piece for girls, especially with the weather we’ve been having. Put it on over a coat on cooler days. Wear it by itself on warm but not quite warm enough days. And if you get caught in a spring shower (or Po Po’s Ponchosshould we say downpour), well all Po Po’s Ponchos are hooded. They’re also easy to slip on and off, a must on busy mornings, they come with a handy kangaroo pocket to keep little hands cozy, and you can use them to sit on for impromptu picnics…talk about multi-tasking.

And speaking of multi-tasking here’s how our kids have made excellent use of their ponchos: in place of their bathrobes in the mornings; for swooping around pretending to be bats in the playground; and to play Little Red Riding Hood…the list goes on. Oh yeah, each cotton-trimmed fleece poncho is named after a flavour of ice cream, and eco-fleece versions are coming soon. Yum!
