Palatial playtime

We’re supposed to be solidly entrenched in spring with visions of summertime dancing in our heads, but the weather doesn’t seem to know that. Mentally we’re not thinking indoor pursuits but rather wading pools and water parks and trips to the beach. But when rain interrupts our best laid plans it can be a challenge to find indoor adventures that can keep our little ones busy while using up some of their boundless energy. After all, you can’t go to Science World and the Aquarium every day and local play gyms aren’t a 24/7 option either. Which is where the Play Palace at the Kerrisdale Community Centre comes into play. It’s open seven days a week, from 10 am – 3 pm on weekdays and 10 am – 4 pm on weekends and holidays.
An ice rink in the winter, from May to the end of August it’s transformed into a…well, play palace, that’ll put your everyday play gym to shame. There are two inflatable bouncy castles, an inflatable obstacle course, a 22″ inflatable slide, a huge toddler play area and heaps more. It can be pretty darn stimulating for little ones, and as it’s for kids up to twelve, you’ll need to keep an eye on things as the boisterous bigger kids love the action as much as little ones do.
We recommend keeping this one in your back pocket and pulling it out for a treat on really miserable days and we don’t just mean the weather.
