Okay, this weekend is so packed with great stuff that we’re keeping everything super short and sweet so we can fit it all in:
Collingwood Days
May 31st, 8 am – 5 pm, Sir Guy Carleton Elementary School, 3250 Kingsway
Start off the day with a pancake breakfast, followed by a parade and then a full day of activities including storytelling, rides and games, clowns, dancing, and heaps more. Free: www.shopcollingwood.ca
Super Sample Sale
May 31st, 10 am – 6 pm & June 1st, Noon – 5 pm, 62 W. 4th Avenue
This sale brings together some of our favourite lines for men, women, children and tots including Fig Organic Kids Fashion, Twice Shy, Kairos, Bring Your Own Baby, Trendy Tot and Dirty Laundry. A quick note – sadly this is the last time you’ll be able to get Dirty Laundry in Canada so scoop it up while you still can!
EuroFest BC
May 31st, 10 am – 1 am, Scandinavian Community Centre, 6540 Thomas Street, Burnaby
Celebrate the many European cultures and traditions alive in BC today starting with a parade and followed by performances, cultural displays, face-painting, crafts and more. Admission $7, Children under 12 free: www.eurofestbc.ca
Lynn Valley Days
May 31st, 10 am – 4 pm, Lynn Valley Park and Rec Centre

YMCA Healthy Kids Day
May 31st, 10 am – 3 pm, 282 West 49th Avenue, Langara Family YMCA
Aiming to raise awareness and educate children and families about health, nutrition, and support services you’ll find sports activities, inflatable play centres, pony rides, and healthy snacks and bevvies. Free: vanymca.org
Music with Marnie Band Show
May 31st, 10:30 am & 12:30 pm, Roundhouse Community Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews
Marnie and her friends including Mumbu the Monkey and Tula the Kangaroo will be putting on a great interactive show that gets kids physical. Tickets $10 each or $35 for a family of four or more, children under six months free: www.roundhouse.ca
explorASIAN Friends & Family Day
May 31st, 11 am – 5 pm, Vancouver Museum, 1100 Chestnut Street (Vanier Park)
The Children’s Fest may be over but that doesn’t mean Vanier Park won’t be full of music, magic, dance, arts and crafts and more this weekend. Free: www.explorasian.org
Kitsilano Farmer’s Market Opening
June 1st, 10 am – 2 pm, 10th Avenue and Larch Street, Parking Lot of Kitsilano Community Centre
This is one of Vancouver’s newer Farmers Markets and it’s a great one. And they’ve dubbed this Sunday their bike to market day: www.eatlocal.org
Beansprouts Day
June 1, 11 am – 6 pm, 27th & Main
This fun community event combines a sale on fave kiddie lines like Paul Frank, GSIS & GBRO, Meli Meli, Zutano and more with free entertainment including Will Stroet (11:30 am) , Bobs & Lolo (2 pm,) a children’s play area, crafts and more. Free: 604.871.9782
Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival Learn to Paddle
Sundays @ 2 pm at the dock just south of Science World
Learn what dragon boating is all about in the lead up to the fest on June 21st & 22nd. Though little ones probably aren’t tall enough to paddle, there are small lifejackets and they’re more than welcome to come along for the ride: www.dragonboatbc.ca

Salt Spring Preschool Society Spring Carnival
May 31st, 10 am – 3 pm, Farmers’ Institute, Rainbow Road, Salt Spring Island
