Yeah humbugs!

Little Humbugs Chloe and Lucy

We have an idea for a lovely Easter (or anytime really) gift for girls that’s egg-shaped and yet not chocolate. Created with the intent of helping kids engage with nature and the environment, Little Humbugs are half-child, half-butterfly eco-superheroes, buzzing around the countryside protecting wildlife. Their antennae help them hear for miles, their wings help them fly in and out of enchanting places, and they can talk to all the birds and animals in the forest.

The leader of the Little Humbugs pack is Jasmine, a 12″ plush doll with a bug-shaped body and butterfly wings. Jasmine comes snuggled in her own egg-shaped chrysalis which we can see will have many uses in the future – handbag and collection holder among them – but which also doubles as Jasmine’s packaging which reduces waste.

Jasmine has her very own book as well which further draws young ones into her magical world. The Little Humbugs also have a fun website to explore with gaLucy, Chloe and Jasminemes, stories recipes, TV clips and e-cards for kids, as well a section for Dragonfly Boys with easy-to-follow eco-tips.

The creation of BC-based, UK transplant, Marghanita Hughes, you can find Jasmine online at www.butterflygirlworld.com and if you order her story online as well you have the option of having it dedicated to your child by the author. A percentage of all Little Humbugs sales goes towards planting trees around the world. Chloe and Lucy, the next members of the Little Humbugs gang to take physical form, will be available in early May.

Oball FootballAnd if butterflies and fairies aren’t up your child’s alley, we think the Oball Football fits into the egg-shaped, non-chocolate mould as well. These fun, easy-to-catch and easy-to-throw balls for kids from one right on up, are latex and pvc-free.
