Chop Chop Timber

Every month we like to profile a great online shopping locale. A place you can browse through in your PJs after the kids are abed. A place you can shop while drinking wine. A place where there are no pushy salespeople and you don’t have to worry whether or not they have a change table. This month that place is chop chop timber!, a little online-only boutique out of Edmonton.

chop chop timber! is all about hip, sustainable goods for kidlets, with some fine finds for mums thrown in too. Launched by mum Karin Reynolds, who was tired of trekking to the States to find organic options for her kids, they carry organic kids’ clothing, skin care, and bedding, as well as vegan, ethical and fair trade products.

In true mama fashion we shopped for ourselves first. We wanted the reusable ChicoBags in a whole array of colours, and next time we need a keychain we’ll be ordering their Lip balm Cozy Cupcake Keychain. Now that we’ve admitted to our paper fetish we feel no shame in admiring their stationary selection which includes Good on Paper and Night Owl Paper Goods’ wooden postcards.

As for our kids, we’ll be stuffing them full of Play Felt Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies, dressing them up in organic BabyLegs, filling their art box with soy wax Crayon Rocks, and stocking up on bla bla’s irresistible and imaginative menagerie for cuddling and loving.

We do find the site a titch hard to navigate, but we like chop chop timber’s products so much that we persevere.
