Think small

Small Magazine

Magazines are our guilty pleasure, so when we found Small Magazine online it didn’t take much to suck us in. Small showcases products for the small sized (ie. kidlets) that are made on a small scale and available online. Aimed at parents who want to move away from buying disposable and mass produced products, Small is all about supporting independent design and production.

More pictorial than editorial, you’ll find features on small skin, small furniture, small play and small threads. Anything small, really. There are also book reviews – their Halloween round up in particular struck our fancy – recipes and the small draw with downloadable PDF pictures for colouring.

Although Small actually looks like a magazine, not a website, you can’t get a hard copy to peruse as it’s currently only available online. When you flip through it you’ll find heaps of links for lovely, fun and funky products from around the world. Alas, that means the stuff you love isn’t always available for ordering, but it’s certainly fun for browsing. And maybe that’s not a bad thing, because if we could kit out our kids Small style they’d be a lot more hip than we are.

Small’s current issue, the fourth, will appeal to both robot aficionados and budding fashionistas. It marks their first year in business and has us convinced that good things definitely come in small packages.
