What to do, what to do?

It’s not a cheap weekend, but it is a fun one!
Walking with the Dinosaurs
January 31st – February 3rd, GM Place, 800 Griffiths Way
Dinosaur-loving little ones will be thrilled (and hopefully not terrified) when 15 full-size animatronic dinosaurs take over GM Place. It’s a 3-D, live way to learn about the evolution of dinosaurs and current theories on why they no longer roam the earth. It’s not cheap, but then no one ever said going back to the Jurassic period would be. www.dinosaurlive.com
2008 Storyfeast
February 1st – 3rd, Heritage Hall (Main & 15th)
The whole family can get in on telling tales this weekend. We like the sound of the Latin Quarter Cabaret on Saturday night, but we’re more likely to hit the kids’ events during the day on Saturday and Sunday, including Sunday’s Kids’ Stories and Rhythms with Pepe Danza. Tickets are available in advance from Tickets Tonight, or at the door. www.vancouverstorytelling.org
The 16th Annual Wellness Show
February 1st – 3rd, Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, 999 Canada Place
There’s something for everyone at this year’s Wellness Show, kids included. The Children’s Physical Area includes circuits from Gymnastics BC that introduce kids to gymnastic basics. Plus the BC Golf Association has golf skills games for kids both big and small to try. We suspect kids will enjoy the Healthy Hounds Contest as well. Kids five and under are free, adults $12. www.thewellnessshow.com
Seventh Annual Chicken and Egg Family Dance and Fund Raiser
February 9th, 6 – 11 pm, Subud Centre/Capri hall (3925 Fraser Street)
Sure, this event doesn’t happen ’til next weekend, but it always sells out fast, so we didn’t want you to miss out on the chance to enjoy live music and square dancing, farm friendly fare and great door prizes, all in support of establishing a BC Community Organics program and supporting the Terra Nova Schoolyard Project. For more info and to get tickets in advance contact Susan at 604.857.1400.
