Organix a go go
Filed Under Going Green, Places, Stuff | January 22, 2008
When we wrote about bamboo products for babes a few weeks ago lots of you took us up on offer to write about bamboo products for mamas as well, and that will be happening, we promise. But to tide you over until that that day, why not visit Granville Island Organix?
The little treasure trove of a shop is packed with goodies for the whole family made of eco and organic fibres including bamboo, hemp, organic cotton, soy and merino wool. They’ve recently relocated to 1812 Boatlift Lane, just around the corner from their original location. The new store includes a little play area for kids and they don’t get thrown if you need to change a dirty diaper on site. This we know from experience.
The play area in located in the back section of the store is devoted to all things chemical and pesticide-free for babies, many of which are from local companies. You’ll find gear from Green Bean Baby, My Monkey Moo, Shirtseed Clothing, and Under the Nile, among others.
For yourself you’ll find lots of stylish attire from new-on-the-scene In Your Own Way, eco-fashionistas Grace & Cello, plus cheeky undies from Bueno Style, and lots more. Round off your outfit by accessorizing with Sparrow Handbags, Green One market bags and jewelry.
And don’t forget dads. You can dress them up in duds from Nomads Hempwear, Salts Organic and HT Naturals. And you’ll want to check out John Fluvog’s Blackspot shoes and boots.
Oh yeah, right now there’ve got a sale on, with 25%- 40% on selected items. So next time you’re headed that way, you might want to add Granville Island Organix to island-hopping itinerary.
