Green Zebra

We’re just a little bit surprised to find ourselves becoming coupon clippers. First came the Tiny Tots Coupon Book, chock-a-block with local deals for the zero to five set, and now there’s Green Zebra, which is full of sustainable savings for those of us in the Lower Mainland.

What kind of savings will you find inside?

If we’re taking a night off with our significant other we figure we can’t go far wrong if we take Green Zebra with us to Aphrodite’s or the Pair Bistro. We’ll also be using the discounts when we stock on groceries at Famous Foods and SPUD.

For any home improvements in the works we’ll be calling in Green Zebra as well. With deals from Benjamin Moore, Salt Spring Seeds and the Light House Sustainable Living Centre they’ve got us covered inside and out.

We’ll be washing our car at EasyWash, an environmentally friendly car wash and getting a dose of culture at the Cultch, maybe we’ll even be able to fit in a showing of The Emperor’s New Threads before the new year.

Our favourite section might just be Get Living. There are deals for mamas at many of our regular haunts including Miss Coquette, Twig & Hottie and Barbara-Jo’s Books. And our coupon clipping kids can hit Little Earth, Crocodile, Beansprouts and more.

Started by Craig Heighway and Regi Bohringer, and based on a concept that began in San Franciso, Green Zebra includes more than just savings, it’s also full of great tips for greening your life – many of which are also on their website. Particularly timely right now is the section on Holiday Gifts that Make Memories, Not Landfill. We think that Green Zebra itself might be such a gift.

Loved the tips on the ‘GreenZebra’ site about stopping all the junk mail and ways to recycle all the household junk! Thanks for the info!
