eagle festival

We’ve got fun events this weekend and they’re followed by some serious, serious shopping.

Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival
Saturday, November 17th & Sunday, November 18th – many sites from Mission to Harrison Mills
Get your fill of eagles this weekend. Each year over one thousand bald eagles return to their wintering grounds along the Harrison River to feed on spawning salmon. The whole weekend is family-oriented, with educational events, food, crafts, children’s events and loads more. And from now until November 17th, Wolf Blass wines will donate 50¢ of every bottle of Bilyara Reserve sold to the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Society, so just in case you need an excuse to buy some vino. . .

Curds & Whey Cheese Festival
Saturday, November 17th & Sunday, November 18th, 11:30 am – 4 pm, Granville Island
Kids and cheese go together, and our adult palettes love it too. So enjoy all things cheesy at the Granville Island Market. Local artisan cheese makers will join regular vendors and Chef Stephen Wong will be creating cheese-pleasing recipes on the market stage. And if you’re at the Kid’s Market this weekend, the Canadian Diabetes Association will be handing out colouring books for kids full of diabetes info.

Joe Ink’s Move It!
Sunday, November 18th, 3 pm, Museum of Anthropology, 6393 NW Marine Drive
Joe Ink is all about the infectiousness of dance and music. This free workshop is about physical literacy and the exhilaration of letting go. Everyone from toddlers on up can groove and move.
