It’s the spookiest weekend of the year and it’s chock-a-block with spooktacular Halloween Events. We’re keeping things short this week as there’s so much going on.
UBC Farm Scarecrow & Pumpkin Festival
Saturday, October 27th, 10 am – 3 pm
Get a head start on decorating your house by building your own scarecrow and carving your Halloween pumpkin. All you need to bring is a small donation and an outfit for your scarecrow.
Parade of the Lost Souls
Saturday, October 27th, 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm
A true parade, this torch-lit procession starts at the Britannia Oval and proceeds along neighborhood streets and alleys finishing with a firework finale.
Halloweenie at Kids Market
Sunday, October 28th, 11 am – 3 pm
If you want to score a free hot dog and cocoa you need to come in costume. You can trick or treat throughout the market, and enjoy a little magic.
Boootiful Botany Haunted Halloween at the UBC Botanical Gardens
Saturday, October 27th, Noon – 4 pm
Start with an educational scavenger hunt and then finish with crafts, games and storytelling. And, of course, there’ll be treats along the way.
Vancouver Maritime Museum Halloween Haunted Ship
Sunday, October 28th, noon – 4 pm
Children from four to ten are invited to not just step aboard a ghostly vessel, but construct their own ghost ship to take home.
Community Centre Halloween Celebrations
We’ve checked out all the Community Centre Halloween events, but as they’re still in recovery mode, if your local isn’t listed, you may want to contact them directly to see if they’ve got something spooky planned.
Britannia Community Centre, Halloween Concert, Saturday, October 27th, 1 – 3 pm, free
Coal Harbour Community Centre, Pint-Sized Pumpkin Carving, Sunday, October 28th, 11 am – 1 pm, free but register in advance
Douglas Park Community Centre, Halloween Party, Friday, October 26th, 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm, $5 in advance, $7 at the door
Kensington Community Centre, Halloween Carnival, Saturday, October 27th, 2 -4 pm
Kerrisdale Community Centre, Halloween Carnival, Saturday, October 27th, 1 pm – 3 pm, ages two to 10, free but register in advance
Kitsilano Community Centre, Halloween Howl, Saturday, October 27th, 11 am – 12:30 pm, ages one to 10, free but register in advance
False Creek Community Centre, Halloween Howl, Saturday, October 27th, 10 am – noon, free but register in advance
Renfrew Park Community Centre, Children’s Halloween Party, Saturday, October 27th, 12:30 pm – 3 pm, $4 person, register in advance (may be full)
Riley Park Community Centre, Halloween Howl, Friday October 26th & Saturday, October 27th, 7 – 8:30 pm, ages 3 – 10, free but register in advance
West End Community Centre, Halloween Howl, Saturday October 27th, 10 am – noon, ages two – six, $3 person, register in advance
