Ominous, spooky, perfect tunes
We’ve been leading up to Halloween most of this week and as a final touch for your little ones’ favourite sugar-induced holiday, we’ve come up with some familiar spooky tunes to get your resident vampires, witches or ghosties in the mood.
| Boris the Spider | The Who |
| Ghostbusters | Ray Parker Jr |
| Werewolves of London | Warren Zevon |
| Twilight Zone Theme | Neil Norman |
| Dinner with Dracula, Part 1 | John Zacherle |
| Zombie Jamboree | Harry Belafonte (parental advisory – the word “damn” is sung in the chorus) |
| The Purple People Eater | Sheb Wooley |
| Monster Mash | Bobby “Boris” Pickett |
| X-Files Theme | Countdown (makes us shiver every time we hear it) |
| I Want Candy | Bow Wow Wow |
| Thriller | Michael Jackson (undoubtedly the best Halloween song ever) |
All songs are available to download from iTunes, but if you are planning on hosting a Halloween party or attempting to out-do your neighbour’s haunted house, we suggest checking out the following albums for even more frighteningly ghoulish sounds:
| Scary Sounds of Halloween | K-Tel |
| Music from Scary Movies | Countdown |
| Halloween Party Scary Sounds | Sounds for Life (almost 30 minutes of ominous footsteps, tolling bells, rattling chains and screeching cats) |
From all of us at yoyomama, have a devilishly safe Halloween!
Pamela Francis, yoyomama’s music maven, is a devoted aunt of four, who makes it her mission to introduce her nieces and nephew to the wider world of music.
