Rock me

Is it only us for whom the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company is a new find? Sure we’ve eyed their set up in the space previously occupied by the original Bread Garden in Kits, but who knew about their great kids’ play area, kids’ menu that offers simple versions of the menu favourites and their family nights? Hopefully not everyone but us, because we think this is a find worth sharing.
The best part? It’s adult-friendly too. Parents can actually have a conversation and enjoy a slice while their little ones are fully occupied pretending to make their own pizzas in the Natural Pod-designed play area. Just be sure to ask them to seat you within sight of the toys, as it’ll mean less hopping up and down for you.
The menu focus is on sustainable and organic, and we were smitten by their Ocean Wise pizza, laden with environmentally friendly cured orange maple wild salmon and smoked Sockeye salmon. And they’re not just about food but also about community – supporting local schools, local organic farmers and the Yellowstone to Yukon conservation initiative.
If the thought of getting everyone organized to go out and eat is just too much, why not stock up on Rocky Mountain’s frozen pizzas? After all, your home has a built in kids’ play area does it not?

July’s big share: We’re modeling such good sharing that we can’t understand why our kids have so much trouble with it. When you sign up for yoyomama in July you’ll be entered to win a $200 gift certificate from Natural Pod, a great local online source for natural items that meet all your kid’s needs from teething to playtime.
Me too! Already a subscriber? Don’t worry, we’re not leaving you out. Every time you use the forward feature at the bottom of your daily email to share yoyomama with a friend, you’ll be entered in our contest too.
All this talk of food has us thinking about Natural Pod’s Brown Eggs which would make pretend baking much more fun.

Let us know what you think or share your great finds with us so we can share them with other Vancouver mothers!

My 13 month old son and I have been here a few times for lunch now, and we both absolutely LOVE this place. The highchairs are great (IKEA), my son loves the toys, and we both really enjoy the food. Eating pizza never felt so guilt-free. A find indeed.
