I just discovered the Sigg bottles. The Vespa store on 4th has a great selection. When others were sold out, they still had a lot to choose from. Love them!!! The Vespas are very pretty also, almost decided to go green all the way and buy one. Who knows, that may be next.

You’re right though, some cite the studies (ie. the Sierra Club and the boingboing site) but some just say studies show…

It looks like choosing it for reducing waste over plastic degrading and causing cancer is a more informed choice. And at least water that’s been sitting in your Sigg bottle doesn’t have the yucky plastic taste that water that’s been sitting in a plastic bottle in the car has.

Like most of us these days, I am trying to reduce our waste (and there seems so much of it with young children) and am concerned about what possible toxins my family may be ingesting. To this end, I think these Sigg bottles offer a wonderful alternative to plastic. My question is, where is the literature about the dangers of plastic out there? Who’s writing it? Who’s vetting that information? Everyone’s talking about it but I just wonder who’s doing the research.

We also just got Sigg bottles for our two kids and they love them! We’re trying to reduce our plastic use so I was quite pleased when we found these at Crocodile. I noticed recently that Roots Kids on Robson Street also carries the Sigg bottles – they have a cute Thomas the Tank Engine one, if that’s what your kid is into!
